Driving to Parque Patagonia
Before today’s long drive, I went for a run along the lake, zooming along with a tail wind then slowly battling my way back.
As soon as we turned into Parque Patagonia we spotted guanacos everywhere. The park has been created by the Tompkins who bought up failed ranches, removed fences and created a new national reserve.
The spectacular 159 km drive was all on unpaved, frequently scary road with some gobsmacking views, accompanied by my ‘gym bunny’ playlist on the iPad.
Lunch stop was in Puerto Guadal with the usual ham, tomato and cheese spread roll avec crisps gourmet picnic.
Our instructions told us to stop off at La Confluencia to walk down to where the Baker and Nef rivers crash into each other - another wow view
